Question:
Privet Dima,
My name is Dmitry I live Washington DC so we are pretty much neighbors. I just started internet marketing and looking for guidance from a more experienced fellow Internet marketer, and a countryman. I used to work for car insurance quote company but I always dreamed about my own business so now I am venturing into online business.
I started like 3 weeks ago, and so far I was able to make just one sale. I wrote tons of articles, but not all of them are ranking. The article that do rank on the 1st page of Google, disappeared after I added a few backlinks. I am marketing clickbank products, and getting at least 6 hops per day. But still not really making any sales. What am I doing wrong? I can send you the links to my sites if you want to review them. I am on a really tight budget. Is there free software that writes articles?
Is there a free software that can add backlinks to my site, articles, blogs, etc…? Is there another way besides writing articles, blogs, adding backlinks, creating numerous hub pages, and lenses on squidoo to market my product??? Or maybe you can suggest a site where they have all of this in a package or at least some features??
I greatly appreciate your help.
Hi Dmitry,
From the information that you gave me it is hard to tell why you’re not making enough sales. But as you said you’re getting 6 hops per day and industry average conversion rate on ClickBank type of products 2%-5%. So from every 100 hops you can expect to make 2-5 sales (it may vary greatly from niche, traffic quality and other factors.) Anyway if you can provide more information about your strategy I can help you more – aka what niche you’re in, what product, what keywords you’re targeting, sources of traffic, how are you getting backlinks, what is your landing page look like etc. If you can send me urls so I can take a look myself it would be helpful.
Talk soon,
Dmitry
Thanks for answering,
I am promoting a software that let’s you back up your video games. This is the site http://howto-copywiigames.jimdo.com/
My key word is “how to copy wii games” I add back links from random sites but they all have a page rank of at least 4+
My traffic stats:
- Direct Traffic 59.00 (54.63%)
- Referring Sites 45.00 (41.67%)
- Search Engines 4.00 (3.70%)
and like I said, I’m get like 6 hops a day, but no sales. I am stuck and don’t know what to do.
Thanks for your help man
Dmitry,
So far from what you send me I can make couple notes. There is no direct call to action on a page, like what do you want them to do, something that will make them buy that software. Write something that will make them want that software. You need to cloak your affiliate links, right now they look like http://773f75kbsn6waz8eqi-43cij0l.hop.clickbank.net/ and people don’t like clicking weird looking affiliate links. Then it is not a good practice to make them other color than usual blue underlined text. Do not highlight links with yellow. Your website is only 3 pages and there is no way it would easily rank for quite competitive phrase as “how to copy wii games” without gazillion backlinks. There are 349,000 pages in Google index that compete for this exact term. You said “I add back links from random sites but they all have a page rank of at least 4+” I can see some links from squiido and hubpages, ehow.com and some other websites. Did you write articles on them? My suggestion find less competitive niche or if you want to continue with this project grow your website and backlinks (will require a some time). Let me know if you need any help or advice
Talk later,
Dmitry
Thanks for advice,
Yeah i wrote a few articles (ezine, articlebase, goarticles, docstoc, etc…), but those aren’t ranking anymore, and the ones that do they like on the 3rd 4th pages.
How do you know where my back links come from?
I will consider getting in a less competitive niche. But what would you call a less competitive niche??? like numbers wise, “broad match”, “exact phrase match”, how many searches per day, and so on…???
One more thing do you go out in DC??? If you do let me know, maybe we could hang out around town or something.
Thanks
Hey Dima,
It is easier to start in less competitive niches, good indicator of that is a number of searches and number of competing pages in Google index. Usually I like to work with niches when number of searches ( global broad match) is more than 500/month and number of competing pages for exact term is 5000 or less.
For example clickbank product “The Ultimate RotatorCuff Training Guide.” and phrase “rotator cuff physiotherapy” – number of searches 590 and number of pages in Google index for that phrase is only 3,400 (Google your phrase in “” and you will see number of pages with that exact keywords). So it would be not hard for me to rank for this phrase and drive visitors to a landing page about “rotator cuff physiotherapy” and “The Ultimate RotatorCuff Training Guide.” as a solution. I am not saying you have to jump into rotator cuff niche, this is just an example and you can find more on clickbank marketplace.
Good luck man.
Dmitry
