Build My Rank – Does It Work in 2012 and Do You Need It?
Build My Rank is private network of aged blogs with websites ranging from Page Rank 0 to Page Rank 7. You get links by posting unique articles to the network. All submitted articles have to be unique; you get to include 1 link with anchor text of your choice per every 150 words.
Links are fuel of your SEO result – without links you won’t be able to rank for any decent keyword. Unfortunately a lot of link building tools that exist today are not able to deliver results that they promise or simply borderline spam and may damage your online reputation. I have heard a lot of good things about Build My Rank (BMR) and their features looked promising, but I never go by the sales letter and prefer to try things myself – so I bought BMR membership and you can read my opinion and results below.

Why Build My Rank is different?
-
Only unique original content
Build My Rank does not accept spun content, only unique and original content is get published, some people see it as a downside, as you have to write new article from scratch every time, but if you really think about it, this is one of the reasons why Build My Rank is able to outperform all of the private blog networks in the same price range. A lot of private blog networks that do not review submitted content for uniqueness and accept spun/lower quality content are shooting themselves in the foot as a lot of members are too lazy/ignorant to properly spin/rewrite their articles. Those lower quality articles get published on multiple blogs within the network, leaving footprint and diminishing value of the links.
-
1 link per 150 words
Build My Rank allow you to include 1 link with anchor text of your choice per 150 words, I found it better to submit 300-400 words articles as they allow to include 2 links and express you thought or idea.
-
Strict quality control
Your articles has to obey proper rules of English grammar and punctuation so if you’re outsourcing your article writing like me, make sure your workers can write in good English. If you don’t use outsourced workers and don’t feel like spending time writing blurbs yourself, BMR writers will write them for you for $2.50 per 150 words.
-
Transparency and Reports
You can easily see blogs where your articles have been published as well as Page Rank (PR) distribution and indexing rate. If you have been using other blog networks you know that a lot of them don’t provide information on where your posts are being published and PR of those sites. Yes, you can get information about domains that are linking to you from WordPress pingback section but if you’re using multiple tools and services to build links it is impossible to tell which service is responsible for low quality links.
-
Up to 5 outsource accounts
I expect most of you would like to outsource article writing – you can have up to 5 outsourcer’s accounts inside Build My Rank so your writers can submit articles on their own schedule without interfering with you. You organize your websites into projects and can assign different projects to separate writers and track their performance.
-
Up to 5 domains for lowest membership
With lowest level membership ($59) you can build links up to 5 domains at a time. It doesn’t mean that you stuck with those 5 domains forever; you can archive or delete unused domains anytime. If you archive a domain, you can always unarchive it later if you have room with your account limit. If you delete a domain it’s irrecoverable. Either way, links that have already been built for the domain are not affected. Any posts in the queue would not be distributed after the domain is archived or deleted. If want to promote more domains simultaneously you could upgrade your membership anytime:
- Up to 5 domains – $59/month
- Up to 10 domains – $79/month
- Up to 20 domains – $99/month
- Up to 50 domains – $159/month
-
Links are permanent
A lot of blog networks, especially those that offer high PR homepage links, in order to reduce cancellation rate and preserve their revenue keep your links for as long as you stay a paying member. You stop paying – all your links are gone! With Build My Rank all links are permanent and if you decide to cancel, post that have been published won’t be affected.
-
Up to 10 posts/day per domain
Build My Rank will distribute up to 10 posts/day per domain so you can expect up to 300 high-quality links/month. If you’re using tools like Market Samurai or SEO SpyGlass to analyze number and quality of incoming links of your competitors you know how many links you need in order to outrank them.
-
Only English sites
Currently Build My Rank only accepts English content and you can’t link to non-English websites.
-
1 post get published on 1 site
Oppose to blog networks that accept spun content and publish it on multiple blogs within network with BMR 1 post gets published on 1 website.
-
2500+ blogs in the network
Domain diversity (number of domains linking to a page) is an important ranking factor. All other things being equal it is better to have 10 links from 10 domains than 10 links from 2 domains. Network size is important because it allows you to have higher domain diversity – Build My Rank network has 2500+ blogs hosted on different Class A, B, & C IPs and growing at a rate of 50-150 domains per month.
-
Improved indexing
If post with your link is not indexed by Google you won’t get any SEO benefit – that’s the problem with most of the blog networks. You submit a post to the network – it gets published on homepage of one of the blogs, Google’s spider comes and indexes your link, everybody happy :). But as new posts arrive your post gets pushed off the homepage and if it doesn’t have enough links and unique content it gets de-indexed. This is where improved indexing comes in handy and Build My Rank stand out from the rest of the crowd – every time post get published RSS feed get submitted to to different feed aggregators like FeedAge.com, RssBuffet.com etc… and url of the post bookmarked on different social bookmarking websites. They say that on average every post gets around 50 backlinks, this is enough to keep very high post indexing rate – 95% or above, in comparison my post indexing rate at SEO LinkVine was below 50%.
Build My Rank Pros and Cons
Better indexing rate
Because of the quality of the network, automatic social bookmarking and RSS submission of your content Build My Rank is able to provide very high long-term indexing rate (95% or above); while with other blog networks in the same price range like SEO LinkVine and BlogBlueprint you get much lower indexing rates (below 50%) right out of the gate and then gradual de-indexing of your links overtime as they get pushed off the homepage (#improved indexing).
Aged, High PR domains
If you have used other blog networks you know that most of the times your links will land on relatively new PR0-PR1 websites, for example I have well over 3000 articles published on SEO LinkVine network and 95% of the websites where they have been published are PR0-PR1. With Build My Rank most of your links will land on 2-4 year old PR1-PR4 domains with occasional mix of PR5-PR6 domains. You can see PR of the domains where your posts have been published and check if they have been indexed by Google using binocular icon. So far I have found data from BMR reporting section to be 100% accurate.
Clean, quality network
Simply put it this way – unique and original content on aged and authoritative domain always wins in the eyes of Search Engines and contextual links from this type of content carry more weight, that’s why Build My Rank is head and shoulders above other blog networks like 1WayLinks, BlogBluePrint, SEOLinkVine etc… They care about quality of the network and do not allow members to propagate garbage content.
Better Pricing
Build My Rank obviously is not the only blog network with high-PR, aged websites; there are plenty of private blog networks with healthy Page Rank, loads of link popularity and aged domains – LinkVana, RevSEO, Elite version of SEO LinkVine etc… But they all charge much higher prices for the same level of service.
- LinkVana -$147/month
- RevSEO – $147/month
- Elite SEO LinkVine – $227/month
I am not trying to bash them, they all good for certain cases, but as a business owner I am simply looking for best bang for by buck and so far at $59/month Build My Rank has the best ROI.
Getting Articles Written
The only obstacle you will face with BMR is to get articles written. Build My Rank will increase your rankings, but only if you provide enough content to get links, with lowest level membership you can promote up to 5 website at the same time and they will distribute up to 10 post/day per website – that’s 50 posts/day. Even at 150 words – 50 posts/day is a lot of writing! To tell you the truth I don’t like writing for links, I like writing about secret strategies, “evil” schemes, cool products that automate stuff for me… I love to write about exiting things. I prefer to focus on writing that makes me money and where my presence is critical – that’s why I outsource all of my writing for article directories, blog networks…
Conclusion
Build My Rank (BMR) is cream of the crop of private blog networks; it does work and provide great results! While BMR is a potent link building tool you have to give it a chance to succeed – sending 10 posts in a month is simply not enough to do anything. That’s why in order to see results you should strive for at least 100 posts/month per website. So if you don’t have outsourced writers I highly suggest to prepare 1 month worth of content first and then sign up for BMR, but if you do have the capacity to produce content then go for it. Build My Rank is highly effective way of boosting your Search Engine rankings.
